Every area has it's little gems that are not always immediately obvious and yet they shine like stars in the sky at night and Number 4, a family run Cafe Bistro, <b>is one that shines very brightly.</b> The building with its large windows and high ceiling provides a lovely, cosy ambiance and you will love the interior decor which with its extensive use of wood provides both a contemporary and period feel and a degree of quaintness that will subtly seduce you. You can dine here during the day and enjoy breakfast and lunch or, and this is highly recommended, you can visit in the evening and enjoy its more intimate side. Its special, its beautiful, its seductive and the food is simply stunning. <b>What more could you want?</b>
Further Details
Our produce.
We only use Organ and fair Trade produce and use local suppliers where ever possible. For example, our Free Range Meat is supplied by Danestream farm in New Milton Hamshire and our coffee's and tea's are all organic and fair trade and all of our cakes and dishes are homemade by our experienced chef's here on the premises.
Why good produce, care and preperation always come first.
As members of the Slow Food Organisation, we believe in the preparation and cooking of food from fresh produce. This means you may wait a little longer for your dish to arrive but know that it has not come from a packet. You really will be able to taste the difference which makes it worth the wait and of course understand that quality comes first when treating yourself to food and drink.

We have three menu's. Our Breakfast menu where you can enjoy stunning food cooked just to your liking all morning. Then there is our tasty Lunch menu which caters for those who have onloy a short time to dine and those who want to sit and enjoy their food over an hour or so and then there is our Evening Menu which provides dishes that will gently seduce your taste buds. Having built up a reputation for regular music nights, we have found a wealth of talented performers to entertain you from Jazz to Latin through to Gypsy guitars and everything between so come and visit us for an amazing evening.

Best Seats:
There are three main dining areas. The main dining area at the front of the building where you can sit by the windows and watch the world go by. The rear area is where you can sit in a more intimate dining area and for the warmer months, there is our garden area where you can dine al fresco. You can also sit at one of our tables outside the front and enjoy the sun on the warmer days.
Wine List:
We offer a lovely range of exquisite wines from around the world along with Beers and Cider and of course a range of soft drinks and tea and coffee.
Functions:
We love hosting private functions and events and you can now hire our venue for your exclusing use. Please contact us with your requirements and we will be happy to offer you a very memorable event. These are some sample dishes from our three menu options - Breakfast menu - Number 4 Full English - served with whole meal or white toast with New Forest smoked bacon, New Forest pork sausages, Free range eggs, closed cup mushrooms, Fresh tomatoes, Heinz baked beans or Quorn sausages as desired - Lunch Menu - No 4 Fish Stew - Prawns, Haddock, Tomato, Tarragon, Orange and Aniseed Served with a portion of garlic bread - Evening Menu - Salmon Fillet - Coriander and ginger marinated salmon fillet with Nori basmati rice and warm pickled salad.
