The Quay Inn - Its history.

The building dates back to 1747 when it was first built as a pub called The Shove and Crown. In 1930 it was renamed The New Inn until 1988 when it became The Quay Inn. The building has been updated over the years but still retains many of its period features including a huge fireplace that in the winter provides a lovely experience as you sit beside the fire on one of the sofa's enjoying the heat and the lovely period ambiance. It feels warm and cosy inside and the dining areas are split into the main dining area near the fire and another in the bar area.

The location.

The Pub and its en–suite accommodation is set on the The Quay at Wareham overlooking the river Frome were boats are mooring on their journeys from Poole and people feed the Swans and Ducks and visit the Saturday morning market which is very famous. being in the Quay side, you are away from the main road and can enjoy a relaxing drink of meal outside in the sun whilst the world goes by.

Highlights.

The pub offers high quality entertainment most weeks throughout the year and a great menu to make your mouth water but what makes them very different is their Black Rock Grill where food is cooked on a volcanic rock in front of your eyes, and you can wash it down with high quality real local ales and beers. It really does offer something different and very special and as well as the great food, the staff will cater for your every need and make you feel very special indeed......Yes all pubs offer similar things, but it is the combination of the building, the location, the staff and the amazing food that makes this pub very unique.

Entertainment and events.

We provide entertainment and events throughout the year including live music and charity events.
