The Kings Arms Inn is one of Dorsets great dining experiences. It is so much more than just the food, it is the whole dining experience that makes this restaurant so exceptional. The building, the ambiance, the staff, the seats and tables. It is everything and whether you go there for lunch, diner or Sunday lunch, you are in for a gastronomic adventure like no other. This is a place for lovers of great food who are passionate about what they eat and like something special so go there as soon as you can and see what you have been missing. Further Details

The Building.

The building dates back to the late 18th century and has been added to and updated throughout the ages. Inside, you will find a blend of contemporary styles and period features which give it a lovely relaxing feel. There are two lovely victorian fireplaces, beams and a combination of woods and subtle colours which along with the large window areas in the front and ceiling give the main dining area a wonderfully light and airy feel.

The bar.

Being a country Inn, you will find a well stocked bar with a variety of different ales, largers and spirits as well as an extensive wine list.

The rooms.

There are three lovely rooms for you to stay in, each one decorated to a very high standard and complete with en-suite facilities, lovely funiture and very comfortable beds. There is a double room, a twin room and a family room which sleeps upto four. The rates are very reasonable and of course, you can also have a lovely hearty breakfast to set you up for the day. But the best bit of all is that you can also dine there in the evening.

We have three lovely rooms for you to stay in. A double, a twin room and a family room. All have en-suite facilities and our rates are very reasonable. Please contact us for our rates and to book.

130 spread over three dining areas.

 

Best Seats:
There are three main dining areas. The Mallard Room at the rear of the building overelooks the large beautiful garden and with the French Doors open in the Summer, it offers a lovely place to enjoy your food. There is also the garden for Summer months. The main dining area is spacious and airy and and you can sit by the large windows and watch the world go by, or you can sit in the centre and enjoy the lovely character filled contempory ambiance or you can sit at the back of the main area and take in the lovely period fireplace and other features. The third dining area is a smaller dining room just off the bar. It is full of charm and character and has a beautiful Victorian fireplace with is spectacular in the winter months.

 

Wine List:
We have an extensive range of wines which are chosen for their taste qualities and thier abilities to lift your palete and compliment our food. Here are some samples: - Whie - Signature du Sud Anjoux - a lovely wine with subtle peach and apricot aromas. - Red - Niel Joubert Paarl - a lovely South African wine crammed with sweet raspberry fruit with complexity and some weight - and of course Champagne - Pol Roger Brut. We have many others so please ask for our wine list when you visit us.

 

Functions:
We love holding functions and our mallard room, which is at the rear of the building and overlooks the garden can cater for 45 people and the smaller dining room at the front of the building can cater for smaller parties up to 15. Please contact us with your requirements and we will be happy to host your functions for you.

 

Price Range:
£5.50 - £14.00 - Sunday carvery £9.50 - £10.50.

 

Menu Summary:
We change our menus very frequently because we only use the best available produce so when one ingredient has reached its peak, we chose another. There are some examples in our Sample Dish section to wet your appetite but please ask us when you visit for our current menu's.

 

Vegetarian Options:
We offer a number of vegetarian dishes and our chefs are happy to create somehting special for you.

These are some sample dishes - Starters - White crab meat and prawns wrapped in smoked salmon with lemon and melba toasts - £6.60 - Geo Cockburn's famous haggis and black pudding with streaky bacon, mini sausage, tattie scone and fried egg - £6.00 - Main - Venison steak and haggis Wellington on mashed Swede with a port and red wine gravy - £13.00 - Seared leg of lamb steak on a shank hash with a mediaum cooked lamb cutlet, rosemary, redcurrent and red wine gravy - £13.00.
