Further Details

Why you should visit them to dine.

What makes an exceptional dining experience?.......Well there is the venue. Although we go out to eat the food, the dining environment is very important. If it is not relaxing, we don't enjoy it. Equally, if it feels too cold, visually as well as physically and the atmosphere is unwelcoming, we don't feel like we want to dine there. In other words, it has to be just right otherwise it just doesn't work.

At the New Inn, the dining environment is just right. You have the character and periodness of the building and you can feel the history of nearly 500 years oozing through its fabric. Then you have the lovely warmth of the interior and an even warmer welcome from Jeremy and Vanessa. Then as you sit in the comfortable chairs reading through the menu, you will feel the very relaxing ambiance and will want to stay there forever and then there is the food.

Daniel and the kitchen team take greate care over every dish they prepare and its quality will be immediately evident when you see your chosen dish, but is its when you taste it that you will know why this is one of the most special dining experiences in Dorset.

The team.

Jeremy, Vanessa and Daniel have worked together for a number of years having run The Chelsea Ram and The Thatched House in London. In addition Daniel has run kitchens for Jean Christophe Novelli's two pubs in Hertfordshire and in his Academy. Jeremy has had a strong involement with Michelin and Leading Hotels of the World so you can be sure your dining experience will be exceptional.

Their passion.

It is their passion for their food and what they do that really sets them apart. They are very strict about the quality of the ingredients and produce they use and have carefully selected a range of local suppliers who work with them to ensure the quality and continuity of supply. Then there is the preperation.

Perfectionism.

Daniel is a perfectionist. Every dish is carefully prepared and cooked so that the food literally melts in your mouth. He also pays very close attention to the different taste elements in each dish so you can enjoy the various combinations to their full extentand that is what sets the New Inn apart. When you eat good food, it is the combination of taste sensations and quality that will make one dish better than another and it is the preperation that makes the difference between good food and exceptional food and when you come here you will only ever taste exceptional food.

The building.

The building dates back to the 13th Century and was converted in to a Coaching Inn in the early 16th Century. Today, it retains many of its original features, especially externally and its character and history are clearly visible. Internally it has been refurbished and offers a wonderfully relaxed ambiance that compliments the character of the building and it just feels right when you enter.

being an old Coaching Inn, you can also saty at the New Inn and they have eight lovely rooms for you to choose from. Each one has en-suite facilities and is decorated in a lovely soft way, just what you need to relax in after a busy day exploring the beautiful Dorset Countryside and when you wake up the next morning, an exceptional hearty breakfast awaits you to set you up for the day so whether you want to stay for a night, a weekend of a lot longer, the New offers you a true Coaching Inn experience that will comfortably exceed your expectations.
